What Everyday Rank collects, why, where it is kept, and your rights under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Last updated 27 September 2026.
Everyday Rank is one person, Shan Minol, who builds websites for New Zealand trades and small businesses. Everyday Rank collects and holds the information described on this page. You can reach us at info@everydayrank.com, or on 09 885 5976, our New Zealand number, where Sam, our AI assistant, answers and takes a message.
When you fill in the form on our homepage, we collect:
We use it to build a page for your business, send you the link, and talk to you about it. The form also records the time you sent it, your IP address and your browser type, which helps us spot spam. We keep what you send even if the form was not complete, so that an enquiry is never lost.
You do not have to give us any of this. Without your business name, the town and a way to reach you, we cannot build your page or send it to you.
We phone New Zealand businesses whose details are public, for example on Google Maps, to offer a website. These calls are made by an AI assistant on our behalf, called Sam, and they are recorded and transcribed so we can follow up on what was said. If you ask, the assistant will tell you it is an AI. Calls to our New Zealand number, 09 885 5976, are answered by the same assistant and are recorded and transcribed in the same way.
From a call we keep your business name and phone number, what was said, and any email address you give us.
To stop calls or emails, tell the caller, reply to any of our emails, or write to info@everydayrank.com. We add your business to a do-not-contact list, within five New Zealand working days at the latest, so it does not happen again.
If someone at your business asks us to send a page, or you ask for one through our form, we build a demo page from information that is already public about the business: its name, trade, town, phone number, opening hours, the services it lists, photographs that are already published, and public reviews: what the reviewer wrote, shown with their first name and the first letter of their surname only (“Sarah M.”).
These companies store the information for us, and may keep it on servers outside New Zealand. We do not sell your information or give it to anyone for their own marketing.
Everyday Rank is run from Sri Lanka, so your information is looked at and handled there. Sri Lankan law may not protect it in the same way New Zealand law does, so we apply the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 to it wherever it is.
This site uses no analytics or advertising cookies. Its pages load a typeface from an outside font service, so your browser connects to that service when you open a page, and our web host keeps standard server logs (IP address, page and time) for security.
We keep enquiries, emails, call recordings, transcripts, call notes and our private copies of demo pages that have come down for up to two years, then delete them. The one exception: if you asked us not to call you, we keep your phone number (and your business name) on our do-not-contact list after that, so that you are never called again. If you become a customer, we keep your contact and billing records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Demo pages come down sooner, as described above.
You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it or delete it. Email info@everydayrank.com and we will reply within 20 working days.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first at info@everydayrank.com. You can also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz or on 0800 803 909.
Our terms cover the price, paying and cancelling.
