Websites built for roofers.

Roofing searches split two ways: a storm-damage emergency happening right now, or a full re-roof someone is quietly comparing quotes for over a few weeks. Your website has to work for both. We build it first, from what is already public about you, and then give it to you. It costs nothing to have and nothing to keep.

What people are actually searching for

Some roofing searches are urgent: “roof leak repair”, “storm damage roof Palmerston North”, tiles down after a wind event. These are answered mostly by the map results, searched on a phone, and answered in minutes, not days.

The rest are the opposite: a full re-roof is a five-figure decision, so people search “roofer near me” or “reroofing quote”, then sit on two or three results for weeks before calling anyone. Your website needs to do both jobs: look responsive enough for the emergency, and show enough finished work to survive being compared for a month.

The trust signal most roofing websites leave out

Roofing is one of the seven Licensed Building Practitioner licence classes, and roofing work is classed as restricted building work because it affects a home’s weathertightness, which means the law requires an LBP to do or supervise it. Showing your licence on your own website, rather than leaving people to take your word for it, is one of the simplest trust signals available, and almost nobody bothers to use it.

If you are a member of the Roofing Association of New Zealand (RANZ), that is worth a line too, because membership includes a dispute resolution service for customers and a public directory of vetted members. Most people getting quotes for a five-figure job have no way to tell one roofer from another beyond a few photos. Anything that removes doubt before they call is doing real work.

What it costs

Nothing. We build the page from what is already public about your business and send you the link. If you want it, we put it live and you pay us nothing for it. There is no card, no trial, and no fee that starts later. It sits at an address of ours, not your own domain name, and it carries one line at the bottom saying we built it.

It asks one thing of you. Once a year we send one message asking whether the details are still right, and two reminders over the month after it. If we cannot reach you, the page comes down — a page with your name and a wrong phone number on it is worse for you than no page at all. It also comes down when you ask, for any reason or none, within five New Zealand working days at the latest, and we will not ask you why.

The only thing you can pay for is changes made for you. You message us a new price, new hours, a holiday closure or a photo of the new van, and we make the change, within five New Zealand working days at the latest. That is NZ$299 for the year, and it includes your own domain name registered in your business name and email on it. No monthly fee, no minimum term, and it does not renew itself. No GST is added. The full terms are here.

If somebody else would suit you better — and for plenty of roofers they would — we have listed every option we could find, with the price each company publishes on its own site: who should build your website.

Built from what is already public

We build the first version of your page from your Google Business Profile, your Facebook page, and anything else already public about your business, then send you the link. You look at it before anything happens. If you do not want it we take it down, you owe nothing, and we will not contact you about it again.

If you have not claimed your Google Business Profile yet, it is worth doing regardless, because it is where your reviews and photos of past roofs show up first, often before anyone reaches your website at all, and it is where the storm-damage searches land. The walkthrough is here: how to claim your Google Business Profile in New Zealand.

Being straight with you: we build and host the website, not your Google Business Profile, because that needs a verified New Zealand address and we are not in New Zealand. The walkthrough above covers the whole process yourself; it takes about twenty minutes and it is free.

Common questions

Should my roofing website show my LBP licence number?

Yes, if you hold one. Showing it, rather than leaving people to take your word for it, is one of the clearest trust signals available.

What should a roofer’s website actually say?

Both halves of the job: whether you handle storm damage and leaks urgently, and photos of finished re-roofs for people comparing quotes over a few weeks. Along with that, the towns you cover and a phone number that gets answered.

Do I need an LBP licence to do roofing work in New Zealand?

For restricted building work (which roofing work generally is, because it affects weathertightness), yes, the law requires an LBP to do or supervise it.

I already have a Facebook page. Do I need a website as well?

For a lot of trades, a Facebook page covers most of what people need day to day. What it does not do well is show up when someone searches your trade and town on Google rather than on Facebook, and it can look less permanent to someone checking you out before they call. We wrote the comparison up properly here: Facebook page or website, for a New Zealand trade business. If you are not showing up in a search at all — not even for your own business name — here is why, in the order it usually happens.

How fast can I see mine?

Send us your business name and the town. We will tell you honestly whether we can build one, and if we can, we email you the link to look at. There is nothing to pay at any point for the page itself.

Not a roofer? See the same approach for plumbers, electricians, builders, landscapers, auto electricians, painters, plasterers, scaffolders, fencing contractors, gardeners and lawn care businesses, handyman businesses, tilers, concreters, gutter cleaning businesses, pest control businesses, locksmiths and glaziers.

Based in a main centre? See the same approach for businesses in Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Hamilton, or see every trade and city.

Ask us to build yours.

Send us your business name and the town. We will tell you honestly whether we can build one — this is one person, so we cannot build for everyone who asks. Either way there is nothing to pay.
